|ULTIMATE FRISBEE DISCS|
Ultimate Frisbee is a sport played on an outdoor field. There are seven players on each team and the game begins when one team throws or "pulls" the disc to the other team standing at the opposite end of the field. The player with poseesion of the ultimate frisbee or ultimate disc cannot run (they have two steps to stop). The ultimate frisbee or ultimate disc is passed from one teammate to the other to make forward progress down the field . Once a player catches the disc in the endzone that is being defended by their opponents a point is earned by the offensive team. At this point the team that scored would then pull the disc to the oppoosing team who would've walked to the other side of the field to receive it.
If a defender knocks down the disc that is being passed from one player to the next and ithe disc or frisbee touches the ground the possesion of the disc is turned over to the other team and they play it from where the disc landed on the field. Alternatively, an opponent can catch and intercept a pass and the defensiive team immediately becomes the offense and tries to prgress the ultimate frisbee or ultimate disc down the field in the opposite direction of their opponent in attempts to catch a pass in the end zone.
Ultimate Frisbee Discs are frisbees used for the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. These discs are specific by brand. Frisbee is a registered trademark. Just like Ultra-Stars, Frisbees are their own type of Ultimate disc. Another example of an ultimate disc would be the Pulsar. All three of these discs, the Ultra-Stars, Frisbees, and Pulsars can be used to play the sport of Ultimate but each disc may be more apporpriate in certainly ultimate games. Note: "Ultimate Frisbee" is now just refered to simply as Ultimate.
Ultimate Frisbee is played soley with a Frisbee disc. Otherwise it's not Ultimate Frisbee, it's just Ultimate (a recent update to Ultimate lingo). Ultra-Stars are used for most games whether pick-up games, school tournaments or college championships. This includes any USA Ultimate sanctioned game and any professional American Ultimate Disc League game. The Pulsar disc is used primarily in Major League Ultimate games.
